This was the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵBAF Festival 2025
On June 18, the canteen forecourt of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Bergakademie Freiberg was transformed into a lively festival mile - in glorious summer weather. With over 45 participating groups, a varied program and numerous guests, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵBAF-Fest 2025 was a complete success!
A day for Everyone
Together with students, employees, families, alumni, friends of the university and interested guests from the city, we celebrated a colorful, warm and cheerful anniversary party.
The celebration was marked by two anniversaries:
260 years of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Bergakademie Freiberg and 100 years of Freiberg Student Aid - two milestone birthdays that we celebrated with lots of joy, music and community.
One Celebration and many Highlights
Until late in the evening, the whole area was a hilarious place to celebrate. A varied program awaited the visitors:
- Live music on the main stage
- Sports and games activities for children and adults
- Culinary offerings with regional and international specialties
- Creative hands-on activities by student groups and local initiatives, including a theater performance
Health and sustainability mile with lots of exciting information and inspiration
A heartfelt Thank You
The atmosphere around the Neue Mensa was particularly wonderful: people laughed, marveled, tried things out, danced, played and made new friends or strengthened existing ones - the kind of genuine togetherness that our university deserves.
A big thank you to everyone who made this festival possible: the many dedicated helpers, the participating groups and initiatives, the artists - and of course everyone who enriched the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵBAF Festival 2025 with their presence.
Together, we created a special day that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Stage programme
- 16:00 - Official opening with Wood'n' Brass BigBand from Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵBAF and culinary surprise to mark the 260th anniversary of the Bergakademie and 100 years of Freiberg student support
- 17:00 - Indian students of the university present traditional dances
- 17:30 - Music with JAMATO - employees Mark and Torsten from the International Office
- 19:00 - "Happy Metal" with the Cramer Band - Prof. Reich's band rocks the stage, at the end of the gig there will be an anniversary surprise
- 20:00 - Raffle 260 years of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵBAF - the quiz
- 21:00 - All my Ex's live in Texas - Cover Band
- 22:00 - Glück auf!
From 6 pm DJ Kiweda will provide musical beats during the breaks.

Theatre performance, guided tours and children's reading

- 17:00/18:00 /19:00 - Presentation and guided tour: Mass digitisation of rock thin sections and ore cuttings - Meeting point for guided tours at the awning
Two microscopy scanners are operated in the SciLab of the University Library, with which it is possible to automatically digitise a large number of rock thin sections and ore cuttings in high resolution. The technology is presented and an insight into the data management concept is given. The university's image database Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵBAFmedia will be demonstrated.
