They didn’t let the weather dampen their curiosity or their enjoyment of science: an estimated 5,000 guests attended the Night of Science and Business on June 12, 2026. More than 170 activities organized by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Bergakademie and the city of Freiberg drew visitors to the university campus. The hands-on activities and lectures at this 10th Night of Science and Business were aimed not only at children and adults, but this time increasingly at teenagers as well. Among the program highlights was the unveiling of the Scientific Diving Center’s new diving container, which was presented to the public in pouring rain—a sight that gave many guests standing outside the container (with a capacity of 24,000 liters!) a real sense of being underwater. Other program highlights included Jack Pop’s science show, performances by international dance groups—including one from Mozambique—and a concert by the Banda Comunale.
