In October 2025, the “Professor Horst Gerhardt Endowment Fund for Mining and Civil Engineering” was established by Mrs Irene Gerhardt and her son Hans-Peter Gerhardt. The endowment fund was established at the request of the former Rector of the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg, Prof. Horst Gerhardt.
It serves to promote research and teaching in the field of mining and civil engineering at the university, as well as to support relevant scientific projects.
The fund is administered by the “Freiberg University of Mining and Technology” Foundation.
